Tri-City Tide Welcome Todd McKillop as New Head Coach

The Tri-City Tide are proud to announce Todd McKillop as the team’s new Head Coach for the 2026 season.

“I’m incredibly grateful and excited to be named Head Coach of the Tri-City Tide,” McKillop said. “To do this in my hometown, where I’ve spent more than 40 years playing and coaching the game, is truly special. I’m proud to help build a championship culture based on hard work, accountability, and togetherness. I can’t wait to get started.”

McKillop is a familiar and respected name within the Greater Moncton basketball community. Born and raised in Moncton, he played collegiately at St. Francis Xavier University before beginning a coaching career that has now spanned more than 28 years. Throughout that time, he has worked with athletes at every level of the game, from school and club programs to university and professional basketball.

Over the years, McKillop served as an Assistant Coach in the National Basketball League of Canada, working with the Moncton Magic as well as previously the Moncton Miracles. During his time in the NBLC, he gained valuable professional experience in game preparation, player development, and team operations. He was also part of the Moncton Magic coaching staff that won the 2019 NBLC Championship, contributing to a title-winning season and fostering a championship culture.

Since then, McKillop has been coaching the Crandall University men’s basketball program, where he’s focused on building a competitive environment centered on accountability, effort and development. His experience at the university level has played a key role in shaping his approach to coaching and leadership.

In addition to his work on the court, McKillop is an educator who has spent much of his career teaching and coaching in the Greater Moncton area, including at Harrison Trimble High School. As both a teacher and a coach, he understands the unique commitment required to succeed as a student-athlete, balancing performance in the classroom with dedication to the game.

With deep local roots, championship experience, a strong background in player development, McKillop brings a well-rounded and disciplined approach to the Tri-City Tide bench. The organization looks forward to the leadership and stability he will provide as the team enters its second season in the TBL.
