A Rookie with Big Potential
At 26, Senegal-born Christian Ndiaye joined the Tri-City Tide as a project player with raw but undeniable talent. From day one of camp, he brought size, energy, and a knack for the little things that matter, blocking shots, grabbing offensive rebounds, and turning second chances into points.
Learning Under a Veteran
Coming off the bench, Ndiaye was mentored by veteran Doug Thomas, the franchise’s first signing. Thomas’s leadership provided a blueprint for anchoring the paint, playing tough defense and giving maximum effort every possession. By following that example, Ndiaye grew more confident in his role as the season unfolded.
On-Court Impact
Ndiaye’s stats may not jump off the page, but his presence was felt in key moments. He averaged 3.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game in The Basketball League’s 2025 season. Over time, his pick-and-roll game sharpened, his chemistry with teammates like James French and Kyler Haynes added a new dimension in the paint. At his size, his ability to finish and run the floor made him a tough matchup for opponents.
Notable Performances
The French Connection
Ndiaye and James French developed a natural bond on and off the court. Fluent in French, they connected through school visits and community appearances around Moncton, taking photos with fans, inspiring kids and showing the Tide’s commitment beyond basketball.
What’s Next?
Still young and developing, Ndiaye’s ceiling is high. His defensive instincts, rebounding are already strengths and the next step is expanding his offensive game. With the chemistry he’s built and the foundation laid in his first season, Christian Ndiaye is poised to become a core piece of the Tide’s future.
