With the 2026 season less than a month away, the Tri-City Tide are entering the final phase of preparation as excitement builds across the Greater Moncton area. Following an offseason focused on roster continuity, key additions and leadership alignment, the foundation is set for a competitive year in The Basketball League.

Training Camp Brings Competition

Training camp will run February 17–19 and is expected to be one of the most competitive camps in the TBL. Invited players Devon Glenn (Woodbridge, VA), Jalen Hawkins (Utica, NY), and Tommy Ephraim (Rochester, NY), among others, will battle for roster spots alongside returning Tide players Kirvaris “KV” Myricks (Gary, IN), De’Monte Nelson (Kenosha, WI) and Tre Edwards (Hamilton, ON).

With limited spots available, camp will set the tone for intensity and accountability heading into the season.

New Division, New Rivalries

The 2026 season also marks a new chapter for the Tri-City Tide as the team competes in a newly aligned division alongside the Halifax Hoopers, Newfoundland Rogues, and Port City Power. With familiar opponents and regional rivalries taking shape, fans can expect high-intensity matchups and a competitive divisional race throughout the season.

A New Leader Behind the Bench

The Tide enter the season under new Head Coach Todd McKillop, a proven winner with deep regional ties. McKillop was part of the Moncton Magic’s 2019 NBLC Championship coaching staff and brings experience in building disciplined, competitive teams. His leadership is expected to shape both the on-court identity and locker-room culture moving forward.

Roster Taking Shape

The Tide’s offseason strategy emphasized retaining key contributors while adding proven talent capable of impacting games immediately. Several familiar faces return, providing chemistry and institutional knowledge, while new signings bring size, versatility, and scoring punch.

Returning players include Christian Ndiaye, Jenovic Mbuyamba, James French, Brandon Neel and Veteran big-man Doug Thomas, reinforcing a core group that understands the demands of the league and the expectations of the organization.

New additions include 6’8 forward Jordan Robinson, 6’3 guard Shawndarius Cowart, 6’8 forward/center Fenley Jean-Baptiste and 6’5 forward Wol Maiwen. Together, this group adds length, athleticism and lineup flexibility, allowing the Tide to adapt to various matchups and styles of play throughout the season.
