From JUCO standout to international professional, KirVaris Myricks, better known as KV Myricks, brought a full toolkit and unshakable energy to the Tri City Tide in 2025. Signed on December 22 2024, the 6’0″ guard from Gary, Indiana quickly became one of the most reliable and dynamic two-way contributors on the roster. Whether coming off the bench or stepping into the starting lineup, Myricks offered a consistent spark that helped shape the identity of the team.
Despite standing at just 6’0, his game had no limitations. Myricks attacked defenses fearlessly, generating space and swing passes to shooters like Devon Andrews or finding Doug Thomas in the paint with sharp drop-offs. On the defensive end, he was one of the team’s most trusted on-ball defenders, picking up full court, blowing up screens, and creating turnovers that often led to transition points.
College and Pro Journey
KV began his journey at Merriville High School before attending Oxnard College, where he averaged 16.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 3 steals per game while shooting 51.7% from the field and 37.7% from three. He then transferred to the University of Los Angeles College of Divinity, winning a national championship and earning All-American honors. There, he averaged 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game, shooting 55% from the field and 40% from deep.
His professional journey included time in Canada, Mexico, and the ABA, including a strong season with the Charlottetown Power in the ECBL. Myricks averaged 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists per game, with an efficient 50% field goal percentage and 36% from beyond the arc.
Impact on the Tide
In the 2025 TBL season, Myricks averaged 7.9 points, 2.8 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. He shot 51.4% on two-pointers and 42.0% from the field overall. He played a key role in spacing the floor and facilitating offensive movement.
What made KV stand out was his ability to impact the game on both ends. He was equally comfortable taking on tough defensive assignments or bringing up the ball to initiate offense. His versatility allowed head coach Rob Spon to use him in multiple roles throughout the season, from sixth man to energizer starter.
Notable Performances
In each of these games, Myricks showcased his offensive burst and defensive tenacity. Whether it was scoring off the bounce, making the extra pass, or crashing the glass, he did what the team needed at the right time.
Community Leadership
Off the court, KV was a leader just as impactful. He became the face of the Tri City Tide Youth Camp, guiding drills, encouraging young players, and sharing his own journey from Indiana to the pros. His presence at middle school basketball events, youth practices, and community activations showed just how committed he was to inspiring the next generation.
Kids gravitated to him , not just because of his game, but because of the energy and joy he brought to the gym. Whether teaching footwork to a 10-year-old or offering shooting tips to a young fan, he made everyone feel seen.
Conclusion
KV Myricks may not have always been the leading scorer, but he was always the guy doing the little things, keeping plays alive, defending the best player, or swinging momentum with a timely drive. His size never limited him. If anything, it fueled his drive to compete harder and smarter.
His story is one of persistence, professionalism, and purpose, a reminder that impact goes beyond the box score.
