“I’m so happy to be back with the Tri-City Tide and I’d like to thank the organization for their trust in me. This season is very special because I finally get to play for our new coach (Todd McKillop). Playing for him has been a goal of mine for many years since college and I’m proud to finally make it happen at the pro level. I’m ready to give my all and show the fans what we can do. Let’s go Tide!”
The Tri-City Tide have officially re-signed Christian Ndiaye, continuing the development of the Senegal-born center as the team prepares for the 2026 season.
Ndiaye joined the Tide ahead of the 2025 campaign as a project player with raw athletic tools and strong defensive instincts. From the start of training camp, he provided size, energy and a physical presence in the paint, focusing on shot blocking, offensive rebounding and second-chance opportunities.
During his first season in The Basketball League, Ndiaye was learning the pace and physicality of the professional game. He averaged 3.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game during the 2025 season, with much of his impact coming on the defensive end of the floor.
As the season progressed, Ndiaye showed steady improvement in positioning, defensive rebounding and pick-and-roll coverage. His ability to run the floor and contest shots added value in minutes with his confidence growing with each opportunity.
A key part of Ndiaye’s development came from working closely with veteran big man Doug Thomas during his rookie year. Thomas, the franchise’s first signing, brought extensive professional experience, having played across Mexico, Venezuela, Sweden, Canada, and the United States, including multiple stints in the NBA with the Bulls, Lakers, Suns and Spurs.
Under Thomas’s mentorship, Ndiaye learned more than just systems and playbooks. He developed a stronger understanding of preparation, defensive communication and consistent effort, helping him grow more comfortable and effective as the season unfolded.
Ndiaye’s progress was evident during an exhibition showcase game back in November, in which the Tide earned a 107–86 victory. In that contest, he recorded a double-double and showed noticeable improvement on the offensive end, particularly in shot creation and offensive rebounding. That performance provided an early glimpse of his potential and the work he’s put in throughout this off-season.
He also delivered several impactful performances during the regular season last year which include a 17-rebound outing against the Halifax Hoopers.
With Ndiaye re-signed, the Tide continue investing in his long-term development. He will now have the opportunity to learn alongside newly signed Fenley Jean-Baptiste, who averaged 15.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game with the Tri-State Admirals last season. That added frontcourt depth provides another valuable learning opportunity as Ndiaye continues to refine his game.
Still developing and entering the next stage of his growth, Ndiaye’s rebounding, defensive instincts, and energy remain strengths. With the foundation laid during his rookie season, Christian Ndiaye returns to the Tri-City Tide positioned to take the next step in his professional career.
