Tri-City Tide Re-Sign Veteran Guard Brandon Neel

The Tri-City Tide have officially re-signed shooting guard Brandon Neel, securing a veteran presence as the team prepares for the 2026 season.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be back with the Tri-City Tide for a second season. I believe in this organization and what we’re building here. I’m proud to represent Moncton again and ready to get to work this February.”

Neel joined the Tide during the 2025 campaign and played an important role within the starting rotation, appearing in 13 games. His season was defined by consistency, professionalism and an ability to contribute in ways that extended beyond the box score.

During the 2025 season, Neel averaged 8.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 43.3% from the field. He proved to be an efficient perimeter option, knocking down 37.8 percent of his three-point attempts and reinforcing his role as a reliable floor spacer.

Neel also contributed defensively, averaging 1.4 steals per game, while providing steady decision-making on both ends of the floor. His understanding of spacing, timing and ball movement allowed him to fit seamlessly into a variety of lineups throughout the season.

Beyond his on-court production, Neel’s veteran presence was a valuable asset for the Tide. He took an active role in mentoring the team’s younger guards, offering guidance through preparation, film study and in-game communication. His leadership helped establish consistency within the locker room and set an example of professionalism needed at the TBL level.

Neel brings additional familiarity with recently announced Head Coach Todd McKillop joining the team this season, having previously played under him during the Magic’s 2019-2020 Championship season in the National Basketball League of Canada. During that time, Neel gained first-hand experience in a professional system built on accountability, preparation, and championship-level expectations.

This shared history gives Neel a unique perspective on McKillop’s approach to the game and allows him to serve as an on-court extension of the coaching staff, helping to implement the system, guide younger teammates and reinforce the standards of excellence McKillop expects from the Tide.

Off the court, Neel has remained committed to supporting the local basketball community, using his experience to help grow the game in the Greater Moncton area. His involvement within the community reflects the values the Tri-City Tide continue to emphasize as an organization.

With Brandon Neel re-signed, the Tri-City Tide retain a dependable shooting guard who brings championship experience, consistency and leadership as the team looks ahead to the 2026 season beginning in February.
