The Tri-City Tide are thrilled to announce the signing of De’Monte Nelson, a talented 6’0″ guard from Kenosha, Wisconsin. Known for his scoring prowess and dynamic court presence, Nelson is set to bring excitement and energy to the Tide as they gear up for the 2025 season, kicking off this March.
Nelson’s basketball journey began at Bradford High School, where he dominated the court from 2014 to 2018. Averaging an incredible 29.6 points and 5.5 assists per game in his senior year, he became Bradford’s all-time leading scorer and earned First Team All-Southeast Conference honors. His offensive capabilities and leadership left an indelible mark on the program and set the stage for his collegiate career.
After high school, Nelson competed at Pensacola State College during the 2018-2019 season, contributing 11.3 points per game in 27 appearances. The following year, he joined Wallace State Community College-Hanceville, but his season was cut short due to an ankle injury. Despite this setback, Nelson remained determined to pursue his professional basketball aspirations, participating in various combines and tryouts to refine his skills and prove his readiness for the pro level.
The signing of De’Monte Nelson underscores the Tide’s commitment to building a roster of talented, driven players who embody passion and perseverance.
