The Tri-City Tide are excited to announce the signing of 6’5″ forward Qyemah Gibson, a talented player from Nassau, Bahamas, whose impressive journey in basketball has shaped him into a versatile and dynamic force. Qyemah’s combination of skill, athleticism, and experience is set to elevate the Tide’s roster as the season approaches.

Qyemah’s journey began at St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he made an immediate impact with the Huskies. During his freshman year (2018-2019), he averaged 5.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. His game took off in his sophomore season (2019-2020), where he started all 20 games, averaging 15.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, solidifying his status as a top contributor.

Though his junior season was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Qyemah returned to form in 2022, posting exceptional stats during his final year. He earned Male Athlete of the Week honors and ranked in the top 10 in several AUS categories, including points, rebounds, field goals, three-pointers made, blocks, and minutes played. His senior-year performance saw him average 19.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, showcasing his elite level of play.

In addition to his collegiate success, Qyemah has represented the Bahamas National Team from 2022-2024, gaining valuable international experience that has further sharpened his skills.
